A child sex attacker who went missing six years ago has been tracked down in Mexico through a “most wanted” website.
Littleborough man Andrew Eden, was jailed for four years in 2001 for sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl.
He vanished in 2003 when he was released on a three-year license, but was spotted in Mexico by a member of the public who recognised him from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre's Most Wanted website.
The 50-year-old pervert, who is believed to have been a part time fire fighter, has been transported back to the UK, and will appear before Manchester magistrates court this morning (Thursday 3 July).
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “He has been returned to the UK to finish his prison sentence.
“He also faces further charges for failing to notify police of a change of address, failing to notify police of his intention to travel abroad and failure to notify police of a change of personal circumstances under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.”
