Date published: 02 July 2009
A 15-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury following a fight outside a house party.
The victim was kicked, punched and stamped on during the fight and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
At about 1.15am on Sunday (28 June), the victim was at a party on Crosby Street, Syke, when the fight broke out in the street.
Detective Constable Janice Cruttwell from Rochdale CID said: "There were a lot of people at the party that would have seen this fight and I would urge them to contact police so we can find who is responsible for this vicious attack."
A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and a 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. Both have been bailed until Wednesday 19 August pending further inquiries.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Rochdale CID on 0161 856 8443 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
