Elections to the board of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) – the company who manage around 14,000 council homes across the borough - are not now taking place.
The board is the decision-making body for RBH and comprises 13 members, the majority of whom are council tenants elected by a full ballot of tenants in their respective area.
New vacancies had arisen in Heywood and Rochdale North areas for people to stand as tenant Board members, but with only one completed nomination form received in each area, both candidates were elected unopposed.
Gill Walch, the current Chairman and sitting candidate in Syke has been duly re-elected in the Rochdale North Area. Heather Stott from Back o’ Moss, Heywood has been elected for the first time.
The appointments will be formally accepted at the Annual General Meeting on 25 September, as will the retirement of Keith Gordon from Heywood whose term of office has come to an end.
