All smiles at Meanwood Children’s Centre
Date published: 01 July 2009
It’s all smiles at Meanwood Children’s Centre following news that they have gained the ‘Golden Grin’ Award, a scheme which aims to prevent tooth decay and improve nutrition in children.
The Early Years Team at the Churchill Street centre has been encouraging children and parents to participate in activities that promote healthy eating. These include making healthy snacks such as fruit kebabs and fruit smoothies during the Stay and Play session.
Senior Early Years Worker Sam O’Neill said: “We encourage healthy eating within all our sessions, but it’s nice to recognise that all the staff, parents and children have worked really hard. We are extremely pleased to have achieved the Gold Award – the highest level that can be given, so well done."
