Put a spring in your step for hospice

Date published: 30 June 2009

The BBC’s North West Tonight presenter Ranvir Singh will put her best foot forward in support of this year’s Midnight Walk for Springhill Hospice.

Ms Singh has been helping to launch the walk and is urging people to get involved in the ladies-only event.

The walk is set to commence on the stroke of midnight on Saturday 18 July.

The fully marshaled 13.1 mile trek will be departing from Middleton Arena. Alternatively, walkers can take the shorter 6-mile route, finishing up at Heywood Civic Centre.

The 2008 Midnight Walk helped to raise a massive £28,000 and this year organisers are expecting an even bigger turn out.

Sponsors of this year’s walk include Jonathan Swire Estate Agents and the event is being supported by Link4Life, UKFTA and Middleton Round Table.

Ranvir Singh said: “It’s so important for people to get together and support this great cause. The Midnight Walk will be a fantastic event for ladies around Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton to take part in. It will be a fun and exciting evening for everyone.”

Fundraising Manager, Ian Jenkins said: “We are delighted to have Ranvir Singh support the Springhill Hospice Midnight Walk this year. We are urging any ladies wanting to take part to send in their registration forms in as soon as possible.”
