Rotarian John Kay presents the dictionaries to children at Redwood School.
The Dictionaries 4 Life project has proved to be an extraordinary success in Rochdale.
The Rotary club of Rochdale has given 56 copies of the Usbourne Illustrated Dictionary to Redwood School, Rochdale today, (Wednesday 24 June) through the project.
The books were presented to Deputy Head Julie Friel by Rotarian John Kay in the assembly for Key Stage 3 pupils at the school.
Last year the school was presented with 24 books by Rotarian David Acton
The aim of the project is to promote British English and encourage children to widen their vocabulary and improve their life chances.
The project, now in its second year, enables copies of the Dictionary to be purchased by Rotary clubs and given to suitable schools.
