Woman stabbed in Heywood

Shortly after midnight this morning, Tuesday 19 June 2007, police were called to St James Street in Heywood following reports that a 21-year-old woman had been stabbed.
She was taken to Fairfield General Hospital where she remains on the Intensive Care Unit in a serious but stable condition.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and will be questioned by detectives.
