Falinge Park High School Prom 2009

Date published: 23 June 2009

Many Falinge Park High School pupils celebrated their school prom with a dazzling ‘gangster’ theme.

Year 11 leavers arrived at the Bella Vista restaurant in Littleborough tonight (Tuesday 23 June), in enormous Range Rover limousines, and larger than life Bentley cars.

Young men were suited up, some in matching white gangster suits and equally trendy shades.

The ladies showed off a variety of outfits, including some sparkly, traditional Asian dresses, which added beautiful colours to the crowd.

Among the young revellers was a budding police officer, fashion designer and even a wannabe West End theatre actress, who are all keen to make it big.

Rachael Myers said: “I have always wanted to work in theatre or on the stage; I would love to work in the West End. Who knows what the future can hold?”

Sean Wheat said he wants to become an engineer. He said: “It is the sort of job which has always fascinated me; I’d like to work as a railway engineer one day.

“There is just something about the job.”

Head teacher Robin Lonsdale said: “I am very proud of this particular year group, they are all ambitious and it has been a pleasure.

“They are excellent young people who won’t struggle to break our school records; I would be interested to see what they go on to do.”

The school leavers enjoyed a meal and disco at the restaurant.
