St Cuthbert’s RC School Prom 2009

Date published: 22 June 2009

Prom night for the pupils of St Cuthbert’s RC School but not a stretched limousine in sight; instead a mystery tour with pupils arriving at St Cuthbert’s in Rochdale not knowing their destination – until the four executive coaches full of excited youngsters all dressed for the ball arrived at the sun drenched Mercure Hotel, Last Drop Village, Bolton.

Rochdale Online was at the hotel complex awaiting their arrival and took the opportunity to speak to head teacher Dr Chris Meehan about the year group, he said: “They are absolutely wonderful people, I am incredibly proud of them. Tonight is a time to celebrate.”

Teachers Maura Ryan (English) and Emma Brown (French and Spanish) agreed, Ms Ryan said: “This year has been really excellent, they have been very hard working and have been a pleasure to teach.” Ms Brown said: “They are the sort of year group we will miss.”

Pupils were equally effusive about the school, many saying they loved the school and the teachers; typical were Jamie Hallisey and Nathaniel Smith who said: “It’s been great” and asked what they were going to do now, they both said return to school for the sixth form “because we liked it so much.”
