Bringing a summer feel to Littleborough stations

Smithy Bridge school children get their local train station ready for summer.
Pupils from Smithy Bridge Primary School have been having some green fingered fun whilst making Smithy Bridge train station extra eye-catching.
Friends of Littleborough stations have been helping the youngsters from Smithy Bridge Primary School Gardening Club by planting colourful baskets of flowers on the platform fences.
Art work done by the pupils is also on show in Friends of Littleborough Stations display cabinets at the same station.
At Littleborough station there are displays of poetry to entertain passengers waiting on the platforms.
The flower tubs at Littleborough Station were also refreshed with summer flowers and herbs.
Both of these events were funded by grants from Fothergill Engineered Fabrics Ltd and Association of Community Rail Partnerships (ACoRP) with the co-operation of Northern Rail.
