Nine people have been charged following a disturbance in May 2008 in which a 17-year-old received life-threatening head injuries.

Three 17-year-old boys from Old Trafford, a 17-year-old boy from Whalley Range, and a 17-year-old boy from Stretford were all charged with violent disorder, robbery and affray.
All are due before Rochdale magistrates court on 6 July 2009.
All charges relate to an incident at about 9pm on Friday 23 May 2008 in which a 17-year-old boy was assaulted during a disturbance involving two groups of youths in Denehurst Park, Greave.
It is believed a group of about 12 white youths were attacked by a group of Asian youths.
During the disturbance, the 17-year-old white boy was violently assaulted and sustained head injuries resulting in bleeding on the brain that required emergency surgery.
A group of youths then attacked three other young people on Rochdale golf course before carrying out other assaults at Heaton Park tram station.
