New name revealed for local provider

Date published: 21 June 2009

Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Community Healthcare is the new name for the provider services operating throughout the borough.

Staff put forward suggestions for what they would like the newly formed organisation to be called and judges selected four joint winners who all came up with a similar name.

Business intelligence manager Gary Young, NPfit communications officer Gemma Wantling, Modernisation and Performance Coordinator Charlotte Booth and NPfIt Benefits and Change Manager Daniel Taylor, all received £15 Amazon vouchers for their efforts.

The new name had to capture the vision of the new organisation as the healthcare provider of choice whilst staying true to its local roots.

Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Community Healthcare separated from NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale on 1 April, following the Transforming Community Services government directive.

Chief operating officer, Janet Crouch, believes that the new name with help staff to realign themselves with the new organisation: “Not only will the new name give us the identify we need, it will help staff to move forward and make HMR Community Healthcare one of the best local health providers in the country. We have a very talented and dedicated workforce who will continue to provide the best possible healthcare to people living in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.”

Literature templates will be developed for all HMR Community Healthcare Services to use to promote their services and in day to day communication.
