Wheatsheaf Centre evacuated
Date published: 17 June 2009

Shoppers stand outside the Wheatsheaf Centre following this afternoon's evacuation.
The Wheatsheaf shopping centre, between Yorkshire Street and Baillie Street in the town centre, was evacuated earlier this afternoon (Wednesday 17 June).
However, an employee at the centre confirmed that the evacuation was just a precaution following a 'false alarm'.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the police had not been called to any incidents at the centre today.
