Man charged with attempted murder

A man is appearing at Rochdale Magistrates' Court this morning, Wednesday 20 June 2007, charged with attempted murder.
25 year-old Piotr Kowalski of no fixed address was charged with the offence in the early hours of this morning.
Kowalski has been charged with stabbing a 21-year-old woman to the stomach and chest.
Shortly after midnight, Tuesday 19 June 2007, police were called to St James Street in Heywood where the 21-year-old woman was found with stab wounds.
Kowalski (born 17/07/81) was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning and, after being questioned by detectives, has now been charged.
