Can you recognise the voice of this bizarre hoax caller?
Fire fighters have released an audio file to Rochdale Online News, in a bid to track him down once and for all.
The distinctive voice calls 999 a couple of times a month, each time with the same story, that there is a fire on Daverntry Road, Kirkholt.
Crews are baffled as to the logic of the serial caller, and they have suffered a series of wasted journeys to the address, which they say could be dangerous if they are needed for a real fire elsewhere.
Rochdale Borough Commander Martyn Ward said: "Though we have seen a notable decrease in recent years in the number of Hoax Calls we receive unfortunately some people are continuing to make malicious calls placing lives at risk.
"A fire engine simply cannot be in two places at once, which may result in us being unavailable to respond to the public who truly need us.”
Anyone that recognises the hoax caller is asked to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
