A busy motorway lane was closed off yesterday (Sunday 7 June) after a woman’s car overturned on the M62.
Fire crews, police and paramedics arrived at the scene at 4.00pm to assist the woman, who was trapped upside-down in the vehicle between junction 17 and junction 18.
The area was cordoned off as she was cut out by fire crews, and taken to Rochdale Infirmary, where she was treated for severe head injuries and a broken arm.
Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A spokeswoman from Greater Manchester Police said: “The lane was closed for just over an hour while the woman was removed from the vehicle, which was a Ford Fiesta.
“She was taken to hospital for treatment.”
