Knitted nature at Broadfield Park
Date published: 08 June 2009
Knitted nature is the theme this summer in the Art Gallery at Touchstones Rochdale and throughout Broadfield Park.
The oranges on the trees at Broadfield Park don’t seem out of the ordinary until you take a closer look to find they are crocheted, as are the flowers and leaves in the art gallery.
Knitted Nature is part of UK DIY, a series of events, projects and exhibitions which have taken place in the North West this spring exploring DIY crafts.
Artists Rachael Elwell and Sarah Hardacre from fibre collective ArtYarn have created both installations.
The knitted nature installations will run until September and admission is free.
