Appeal won for town centre amusement centre
Date published: 06 June 2009
An appeal has been won against Rochdale Borough Council to open an amusement centre in a disused town centre shop.
J B Leisure applied for permission to open the centre, with café, in a former nail salon on Yorkshire Street, but faced refusal on grounds that is would not make a valuable contribution to the town centre.
The appeal has gone through, with the condition that the building is to be sound-proofed.
The building was a nail salon until late last year, and was previously a card shop.
