Guns stolen in Middleton robbery
Date published: 05 June 2009
A shotgun and ammunition were stolen from a farm in Middleton during a robbery on Wednesday night (3 June).
Between 9.30pm on Wednesday night and 7.45am on Thursday morning, a trailer belonging to a haulage company parked just off Heywood Old Road was broken into.
The lock was broken off and a shotgun, ammunition, four air rifles, keys to a car and cash were taken from inside during the burglary.
Sergeant Kris Williams, from the Middleton Response Team, said: "It is deeply worrying that this deadly weapon has been taken.
"We need that shotgun to be taken off the streets before it causes harm to somebody.
"If you know the whereabouts of the stolen guns or who is responsible for the burglary, I'd urge you to contact me."
Anyone with information is asked to call Middleton police on 0161 856 8777 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
