Rochdale Council has unveiled five new carton recycling banks this week - to help residents recycle food and drink cartons.
The new banks are able to accept all kinds of cartons including those that are used to package things like long-life milk, fruit juices and cooking sauces.
The new recycling banks are situated at:
- Rochdale FC Spotland Stadium (Car Park), Sandy Lane, Rochdale
- Tesco, Silk Street, Rochdale
- ASDA, Dane Street, Rochdale
- Co-op, Station Road, Littleborough
- Morrison's, Kingsway, Rochdale
Speaking at the official launch at Rochdale Football Club, Councillor Wera Hobhouse said: "These new recycling banks will give residents the opportunity to recycle even more of the waste that would otherwise end up going to landfill. Just remember - wash it, squash it, recycle it!"
When full, the banks are emptied and the contents are recycled into a number of different products ranging from plasterboard liner to high-strength paper bags.
