Milnrow Carnival starting early

Milnrow Carnival - This Saturday
Large floats and official figures are expected this Saturday’s Milnrow and Newhey Carnival.
Immigration Minister, Phil Woolas MP, is due to join in the fun which will begin on Belfield Lane at 12.30pm, earlier than the usual 1.00pm start time.
Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Keith Swift, will be fronting the parade, followed by United Co-op Milnrow Band, the Carnival Queen, a Morris troupe from St Ann’s School, Phil Woolas MP, and members of St Thomas C of E Primary School.
The event will end at Hollingworth High School where there was a fairground and activities all afternoon, including a fairground, live music, black peas, competitions and raffles.
