Gas canister activated at pub in Heywood

Detectives in Rochdale are appealing for witnesses following an incident at a pub in Heywood last night, Friday 22 June 2007.
At 11.15pm a number of men approached the Victoria Pub on Church Street armed with baseball bats. They smashed several windows at the front of the building before walking into the pub and activating a gas cannister, believed to be CS gas, before leaving the pub.
Nothing was stolen and no-one was injured during the incident.
