Plans for Liquid Rock nightclub land
Date published: 02 June 2009
The old Liquid Rock nightclub land is to be used to build a four-storey “business centre”, it has been decided by the Council.
The land, on the junction of Great George Street and Greenwood Street, has been unused since the nightclub was demolished.
It was closed down at the request of police following an alleged shooting on the premises in 2007.
Tonight (Tuesday 2 June), Rochdale Township Planning Sub Committee agreed, against no objections, that the land should be put to good use, and a Building Research Establishment Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) will be carried out.
