Local artists can see their work at Touchstones
Date published: 02 June 2009
Rochdale artists have two opportunities to exhibit their work this summer.
People’s Art 2009 is open to individuals living or working in Rochdale. Entry forms are now available for original artwork and can be exhibited for a fee of £3.
Paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and craftworks are all welcome. The handing in date where people can bring their entries to the Art Gallery at Touchstones is between 15-21 June.
The Art Gallery will attempt to exhibit all the works entered so long as they haven’t been shown in People’s Art before.
The exhibition itself opens on Saturday 4 July and runs to Sunday 6 September.
It is also a good time to submit an application to Gallery One, the community gallery at Touchstones, which is open to anyone living or working in the borough or with another strong link to Rochdale.
The deadline for applications for the next selection round is 22 June to be considered for an exhibition between December 2009 and April 2010.
People’s Art entry forms and application forms for Gallery One are both available from the reception at Touchstones.
