Rochdale house prices buck the trend
Date published: 01 June 2009
The last 18 months has been a huge struggle for the UK housing market and over the last 12 months all houses in England and Wales have experienced a decrease in property value.
However, in Rochdale things look set to improve as house prices have increased. The highest monthly price rise in the country is in Rochdale at 8.2%.
Key findings from the Land Registry House Price Index show that although property prices are still falling, the rate of the drop has remained stable over the last couple of months.
Manchester has experienced the most significant annual price fall of -22.6%, while the smallest fall is in Salford at -10.8%.
The average house price at the moment in England and Wales is £152,898. The average house price in the North West is £116,009.
