Blooming great tea party for cancer charity

Date published: 30 May 2009

The Rochdale Support Group for Marie Curie Cancer Care is throwing its doors open for tea and cakes on Tuesday 9 June as part of the charity's 'Blooming Great Tea Party' incentive.

The group is inviting people to come along to its tea party in The Peacock Room at The Crimble Restaurant in Bamford.

All money raised will help more Marie Curie nurses to provide free care for people with a terminal illness in their own homes.

Vivien Thompson, chairman of the group, said: “Every cup of tea and slice of cake will help more Marie Curie nurses to provide free care for people with a terminal illness.

"We are very grateful to The Crimble for sponsoring this event and are looking forward to raising our cups for the Blooming Great Tea Party, so please come along and join in the fun.”

The Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Keith Swift and Ms Sue Etchells will be at the tea party at 3pm.

Afternoon tea will be served from 2pm to 5pm. Tickets are £5 per head and include tea/coffee, scones and cake.

To book a place contact Christine Morgan on 01706 669779 or 07811 082867.
