Have your say on Springfield Park
Date published: 28 May 2009
The Friends of Springfield Park group are hosting a consultation event on the future of the park today (Thursday 28 May).
The event, at Rochdale Town Hall, runs until 6pm and is a chance for residents to have their say on what they want to see at the park.
A spokesman for the group said: "We want you to tell us what you want in your park before others tell you what you will have."
The Friends group was born out of a desire to improve facilities at the park, which include a six-lane running track and football and cricket pitches which have all fallen into desrepair.
They lobbied for support in opposition to proposals put forward by the council to build a golf driving range on the pitches last year.
