Parent forum in Hamer
Date published: 28 May 2009
More than 40 parents are expected to gather at the launch of Hamer Sure Start Children’s Centre's Parent Forum on Thursday (4 June).
Anyone interested in joining the forum for parents with children aged 0-5 are welcome to the launch event from 1.45pm at Hamer Children’s centre, which is based at Hamer Primary School on Albert Royd Street.
Parent Empowerment Worker, Rena Begum said: “The interest in being involved in a forum has been incredible.
"Lots of parents are interested in taking part in activities together, whether it’s just to have a coffee and a chat with like minded parents or to be proactive in organising events and activities for them and their children in the centre and a voice in the local community.
"We hope to take the forum on on a regular basis after the launch and establish a regular group.”
Hand massage and henna painting will be on offer to visitors at the launch, as well as more details of what the forum will involve.
Hamer Sure Start Children’s Centre offer a full time table of events for families with children aged 0 – 5 throughout the week. For more information call into the centre or call 01706 357526 for more details.
