Pennines Township Committee shared a one minute silence last night (Tuesday 26 May), in memory of a popular, well known historian.
Graham Pearson, the long-standing secretary of Littleborough Historical and Archaeological Society, passed away on Monday while visiting relatives in the South East, aged 68.
Chairwoman of Pennines Township, Councillor Jean Ashworth said: “Graham leaves a lasting legacy in Littleborough and in Rochdale.
“He contributed a lot to the town, a very hard worker who was well respected. He will be sadly missed.”
Mr. Pearson was a dedicated historian and spokesperson for the towns heritage, and had been a member of Littleborough Historical and Archological Society for 20 years.
