Fun day at Chesham play area
Date published: 24 May 2009
Celebrations to mark the opening of a new play area for Chesham Avenue in Castleton, will take place during a fun day on Friday, 29 May.
The local community is invited to the site between 1pm and 4pm to enjoy a variety of activities including games and sport, the Doorstep mobile play vehicle, the Skylight Circus and much more.
The new play area contains stimulating and exciting play equipment aimed specifically at children and young people aged between eight and 13.
It has been provided after Rochdale Council successfully bid for £2 million in funding from the Department for Children, Schools and Families as part of a pathfinder project. A total of 28 sites will be provided across the borough.
Sue Birtles, project co-ordinator said: “The requirement of the project was that play sites should be for the eight –13 age group and should move away from traditional designs and feature more natural play elements.”
