Top safety award for RBH
Date published: 19 May 2009
The British Safety Council's 'International Safety Award' has been presented to Rochdale Boroughwide Housing for the fifth year running.
The Council's arms length management scheme for housing has shown that it has comprehensive health and safety policies in place, has a commitment to health and safety and promotes a positive safety culture within the workplace.
In receiving the award, RBH was shown to have made significant improvements since they were given the award last year.
Gareth Swarbrick, Chief Executive of RBH said: “To win this five years in a row is an absolutely fantastic achievement for the team at RBH who have put a lot of hard work into gaining this award. Health and safety issues impact on people at every level and can have a huge benefit on employees, residents, business and the economy as a whole.”
Brian Nimick, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council said: “In the 21st century, many organisations worldwide are understandably making health, safety, and environmental management their top priority. Through achieving an International Safety Award, Rochdale Boroughwide Housing is helping to make our vision of a health and safe working environment a reality.”
