Rochdale Catholic Club has raised £1000 for children's hospice Francis House.

Vice President of the Catholic Club, John Hughes presented a cheque for £1000 to Celia Maloney of Francis House, the results of four months of fundraising concerts.

Celia Maloney said: "In these hard times, I am constantly encouraged by the generosity of spirit of ordinary people who could still raise such tremendous sums of money for Francis House, which really needs their help."

Francis house provides Respite care and family support for children with short life expectancy.

After presenting the cheque, John said that the next charity the club would be supporting is the Silver Heart Appeal at Rochdale Infirmary.
