Police outpost in Falinge

Date published: 15 May 2009

Members of Rochdale North Neighbourhood Policing Team are getting into the heart of the community with a new dedicated outpost police office in Falinge.

The base, at Abbey Dale, has been created in partnership with Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, to ensure that officers are in the right place, at the right time and tackling the issues that matter most to the local community.

Inspector Lin Houldershaw for Rochdale North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “As a Force and a division we are looking to become more accessible to the public and better informed on the needs of the local communities. As a team we feel it is essential to be at the heart of the community where we become more accessible and in turn can build better links with the people we are protecting.

“This is a great opportunity for us to deliver a more personalised, efficient and effective service.”

Kath Shaughnessy, principal housing manager for Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, said: “RBH is proud to have a strong working partnership with the police and we are looking forward to increasing security for lower Falinge residents with the setting up of the Neighbourhood Policing Team outpost. Residents have been asking for greater police presence and working together we will be able to provide this from the heart of the estate."
