Helping hand for new landlords

Date published: 14 May 2009

Rochdale Council are offering help to the increasing number of residents who are considering renting out their homes.

The council’s Landlord Accreditation Scheme is holding a special training event to help prospective landlords get on their feet and understand their basic legal obligations.

The event, on Thursday 4 June at the Best Western Broadfield Park Hotel in Rochdale, will cover subjects such as tenancy agreements, legal requirements and other relevant information that will help new landlords and ease the letting process.

Paul Gordziejewicz, Interim Head of Housing at Rochdale Council said: “In the current market, selling your home is more difficult than ever, so an increasing number of residents are coming to us and saying they are interested in renting out their properties. This event is a fantastic opportunity for them to get all the facts.”

There will be a specialist housing advisor on hand to give tips and advice to prospective landlords and answer any questions.

The event will take place at The Best Western Broadfield Park Hotel on Sparrow Hill at 6.30pm.
