Attempted murder charges for landlord attack

Police have charged a man and a woman in connection with an attempted murder of a pub landlord in the Spring Mill Tavern.
Carl Edward Davis, 25, of Tweedale Street, Rochdale and Elizabeth Michelle Riley, 22, of Bridge Street, Milnrow, are both facing possible prosecution.
The 39-year-old landlord was left fighting for his life after being found unconscious inside the pub on Sunday afternoon (19 April).
The pair are next due to appear before Bolton Crown Court on 21 July 2009.
It is believed he was attacked during an attempted robbery.
He remains in a critical condition in hospital.
