Gun shots fired in Heywood

Just before 2am in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 9 August 2007, police were called to Market Street in Heywood following several reports that gunshots had been heard.
Officers went to the scene and found some spent cartridges.
Nobody has been reported as injured during this incident.
Market Street was closed in both directions this morning to allow for further searches and for scene of crime officers to carry out their investigations.
