A man was bundled into the back of his own car during a kidnapping incident last month.

Officers attended and found that the man who lived at the house had gone missing, along with his Mercedes.

The 41-year-old man was bundled into his own car by three men who then drove off.

About half an hour afterwards, the man was found in the back of a Ford Transit on Black Pitts Lane, with an injury to the head. The Mercedes was also left at the scene.

One of the men is described as being white with brown hair. All three of the men were in dark clothing with balaclavas.

The victim was taken to taken to hospital for treatment to bruising, as well as cuts to the wrists and head. He also suffered broken ribs and his hand was broken.

Detective Constable Martyn Cunningham said: "This was a terrible ordeal for the victim.

"We are in the early stages of our inquiry and are appealing for the public to give us any information that could help. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the Mercedes being dumped."
