Emmerdale actor escapes jail
Date published: 29 April 2009
An Emmerdale actor from Rochdale walked free from court after admitting attacking a teenage boy.
Luke Tittensor, 19, who played teenage tearaway Daz Eden in the ITV soap, received a nine-month suspended sentence today, (Wednesday 29 April) for fracturing the jaw of a 16-year-old boy.
Bolton Crown Court heard how the victim was left "badly injured" following the attack in February last year in Rochdale.
The actor was sacked from the soap following a guilty plea to grievous bodily harm.
A spokesperson from the soap said: "As Luke has pleaded guilty to the serious charge of GBH and we cannot condone criminal behaviour, we have met with Luke and his agent to explain that his contract with Emmerdale will be terminated.
"Luke regrets his behaviour and understands this situation."
