New sentence date for danger driving pair
Date published: 24 April 2009
Two men convicted of causing a crash that left one woman permanently disabled and two others seriously injured will now be sentenced at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court on 8 May.
Lee Unwin (37), of Oldham, was convicted of dangerous driving earlier this month after a four-day trial. Joel Wharmby (24), of Littleborough, had earlier pleaded guilty to the same offence.
Unwin was riding a Suzuki motorbike and Wharmby a Noble M12 GTO sportscar on Manchester Road last September when the car hit a Renault Clio.
The incident threw three women passengers from the vehicle and left them critically injured.
They were originally due to be sentenced today (Friday 24 April) at Manchester Crown Court.
