Excitement as Broadfield business venture pays off

Date published: 23 April 2009

The Broadfield Park Hotel has officially opened its doors to the public – having undergone a massive transformation.

The official opening ceremony was held last night (Thursday 23 April) with the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, who had a guided tour of the newly refurbished building.

The hotel, on Sparrow Hill, is under new ownership; new owners, Duncan Stewart and Paul Hindley, believe the £150,000 transformation will be the start of a new era.

Mr Stewart said: “When we first took over we were quite worried; it was minus ten degrees, there was no heating, hardly any furniture, there wasn’t even a carpet laid.

“But we saw it as a challenge and we are proud of what he have achieved. Hopefully everyone can see for themselves”.

“We have had a massive amount of support from local people who are all excited about the Broadfield springing back to life, and that makes us very excited too.”

Rochdale Online News, along with around a hundred guests, was invited to a luxurious champagne sit-down dinner at the opening ceremony.
