Rescue session for Alkrington parents in a baby daze

Date published: 17 April 2009

Help is at hand for new parents and their babies at the Alkrington Children’s Centre.

Starting on Monday (20 April) at Alkrington Primary School, 'Early Daze' will run each Monday from 10am – 11am and is especially for parents and parents to be to come together with their babies to share ideas and speak to others about their concerns.

Pam Fielding, Parent Empowerment Worker for the Alkrington Children’s Centre Team said: “Although there is such joy and celebration at a new birth, nothing quite prepares us for having a new baby, whether it’s our first or there are older siblings too. This relaxed session aims to offer a little light relief, so new parents don’t have to feel like they have to deal with everything that comes with a baby on their own. There will be chance to speak to other parents about the issues that have affected you and your baby – chances are someone else has a similar experience. Dads are welcome too.”

The session aims to allow parents opportunity to get together, make new friends and learn more about baby and parent welfare for the new families to get off to the best start.

All are welcome, whether it’s your first baby or an addition to the family. A healthy snack will be provided.
