Reminder: Help shape the future of Springfield Park
Date published: 09 April 2009
Residents and young people are being reminded of the opportunity to have their say on the vision for Springfield Park in Rochdale, which takes place on Saturday 18 April.
Running from 10am to 2pm at Matthew Moss High School, members of the public are invited to drop in to find out more information about the park, speak to representatives from Rochdale Council, Link4Life and the Friends of Springfield Park, and see plans for its future development - which include the controversial golf driving range.
Once visitors have had the chance to gather information, they will be asked to complete a questionnaire, which will be used to obtain views that will help shape future decisions about the park.
Councillor Wera Hobhouse, Rochdale Council’s cabinet member for environment and sustainability, said: “We want as many people to come to the visioning day as possible.
“If you’re passionate about leisure and parks facilities, this is your chance to have your say and help inform future decisions about Springfield Park.”
Following the event, an independent adjudicator will prepare and publish a report based on the views given by the public at the event.
