Duo facing sentence over horror crash
Date published: 02 April 2009
Two men convicted of causing a crash that left one woman permanently disabled and two others seriously injured will be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on 24 April.
Lee Unwin, 37, of Oriel Close, Chadderton, was convicted of dangerous driving last Thursday after a four-day trial.
Joel Wharmby, 24, of Victoria Street, Littleborough, had earlier pleaded guilty to the same offence.
Unwin was riding a Suzuki motorbike and Wharmby driving a Noble M12 GTO as they sped down Manchester Road on Saturday 29 September last year.
The car hit a Renault Clio, throwing three of its women passengers from the vehicle and leaving them critically injured.
