'Give us a sign' say school governors
Date published: 31 March 2009
School governors from Oulder Hill have called for extra signage.
LEA Governor, Councillor William Hobhouse, has agreed to investigate and report back as to why there are signs on Sandy Lane for other local places, but not the school itself.
Councillor Hobhouse said: 'From Sandy Lane, there are signs for the recycling centre, the Gracie Fields Theatre, an AA Match Traffic sign, and a separate big sign for the Oulder Hill Leisure Complex. It's obviously an omission that neither Oulder Hill nor Redwood school appear to exist”.
“This mess of signs is a good example of how not to improve the street scene. I hope that the Council will come up with some elegant solution that pleasantly signs the improving Oulder Hill school and all the community facilities that sit alongside it.”
