'He had a buzz for life'

Date published: 30 March 2009

The grief-stricken sister of a hit and run victim has paid tribute to her “best friend”.

The body of Sean Keane, 23, was found by police in Middleton on Saturday night (28 March) after he was struck by a Seat Leon, which drove away from the scene.

Now Mr. Keane’s family, including parents Irene and James, and sister Cheryl, paid the following tribute:

"Sean will be deeply missed by all. His younger sister saw him as a best friend. He had qualities that made him the perfect brother, son, cousin, nephew, boyfriend and friend.

"He had a constant buzz for life and we shared so many laughs with him. He was at the centre of the worlds of many people, and he didn't even know it.

"He was as close as a brother to his cousins. The many people who knew him are heartbroken."

Sean worked as a ventilation fitter. He leaves behind his long-term girlfriend Emma.

An 18-year-old man was today, Monday 30 March 2009, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in police custody for questioning.

The 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident remains in police custody.

Witnesses are asked call the road policing unit on 0161 856 8473.
