Concern for missing teen

Date published: 29 March 2009

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing Rochdale teenager.

Joshua Thompson was last seen at the Garden Unit at Prestwich Hospital on Wednesday 18 March.

He is described as white, of medium build, 6ft tall with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue trousers and black trainers.

Joshua suffers from schizophrenia. He has medication with him but that is due to run out soon. It is possible he could become violent without his medication.

Joshua's dad died sometime ago and yesterday (Saturday 28 March) would have been his birthday,

Sergeant Gary Foster from the Public Service Team at Rochdale said: "Ten days is a long time for someone to go missing and his mother and the police are understandably very concerned.

"Joshua is known to visit the town centre, particularly Falinge, Brimrod, Broadfield and Todmorden parks.

"I would appeal directly to Joshua or anyone who knows where he is to get in touch with his mother or the police and let us know you are okay."

Anyone with any information is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050 or the Public Service Team on 0161 856 8402.
