House price fall highest in country

House prices in Rochdale fell 5.1% last month, bringing the annual fall to 18.5%. It was the heaviest fall of all of the Metropolitan areas in the country.
The figures show further evidence that Rochdale is suffering an extended and ongoing slide in property prices.
Nationally prices fell by 2% in February, with an annual fall of 16.5%. According to the latest statistical release from the Land Registry, prices are now at the same levels as September 2004.
The North West region experienced the highest monthly fall at 4.1%, while prices in the area have decreased by 17% over the course of the year.
