Car blaze: Greater Manchester Police are now investigating arson
Fire fighters rushed to Sparthbottoms to tackle a large seven-car blaze at the weekend.
Crews attended the scrap yard site in Norman Road shortly after 2.00pm on Sunday (22 March), where seven vehicles had been deliberately set alight.
The matter was handed over to police who are now investigating arson.
A spokeswoman from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two appliances from Rochdale went to the scrap yard where seven vehicles had been set alight deliberately.
“Jets were used to bring the fire under control. The police are handling the matter now”.
