Rochdale's Apprentice revealed

Date published: 17 March 2009

A 33-year old science teacher from Rochdale will battle it out with fourteen other candidates in the new series of The Apprentice.

The line-up for the fifth series of the show was announced today and Rochdale's Noorul Choudhury is in line to feel the infamous wrath of Sir Alan Sugar.

Mr Choudhury hopes to become a property development millionaire and has been described as a fashion-obsessed, straight-talking leader.

He believes that Argos should be banned from selling jewellery and aims to start up a men's tailoring business one day.

He said: "I have always been ambitious and driven and I've got the capabilities to deliver. I am not all talk...I can manage a team of people, total strangers even, because I am feisty and have attitude."

Mr Choudhury's first aim will be to avoid getting fired during the first week of the new series and then he will hope he can make through the full 12 weeks of the competition to win the job as Sir Alan's apprentice, netting a six figure salary in the process.

The first programme of the new series will air on BBC One on 25 March at 9pm.
