Date published: 17 March 2009

Plans to widen the M60 between Swinton and Eccles will be unveiled to the public on Thursday (19 March).

The scheme involves increasing the number of lanes from three to four between junction 15 and 13 anti-clockwise and from four lanes to five between junctions 13 and 12 anti-clockwise.

The number of lanes along a section of the anti-clockwise carriageway through junction 12, the Eccles Interchange, will be increased from two lanes to three lanes.

Work on the three mile-stretch of the motorway is expected to start in summer 2010 and be finished by December, 2011.
